Check for obstructions
Trees and Branches
Make sure there are no overhanging branches or trees that could block the cabin’s placement.
Fences and Walls
Measure the distance between any fences, walls, or other barriers, and check for soffits or rooflines of nearby buildings. Ensure there’s enough clearance for the cabin and its delivery, as it may not fit under soffits when on the trailer.
Please Note: Our contractor cannot lift the cabin over fences, down retaining walls, or other similar obstacles. If this is required, please contact us.

Measure Driveway Width
Driveway Clearance
The driveway must be wide enough for the delivery vehicle and the cabin.
Our Standard Cabin Size
The width is 2.7m for the cabin (exterior wall to exterior wall). The roofline is 3.1m, including the soffit and guttering. Minimum clearance required: 3.5m wide and 3.5m high. The cabin’s highest point is just under 2.5m high. However, when on the trailer, it reaches a total height of approximately 3.7m.
Optimal Clearance
We recommend a minimum clearance of 4m x 4m to ensure a smooth delivery.

Access points
Pathway to Placement
Ensure there’s a clear path from the driveway to where you want the cabin. Look out for narrow gates, steps, or tight corners that could make the delivery difficult.
Ground Level Considerations
The ground where the cabin will be placed should be as level as possible. We recommend no more than a 300mm difference in ground level from one end of the cabin to the other. If the slope exceeds this, we’ll need to discuss possible solutions with you before installation.
Delivery Day
On delivery day, we bring your cabin on a trailer and position it where you want it. The driver will park as close as possible to the site, then lower the cabin onto the ground using winches, pulleys or a trolley wheel system to manoeuvre it into its final position.
We’ll level your cabin, check it’s safe and stable, then once in place, it’s ready to use straight away. Warm, dry, and finished to our usual high standard – your new Hire a Hut cabin is good to go.
